There is only one real rule to the Neopets diaryring: Put the link up! It can be on your template or on a rings page. As long as it's up somewhere, it counts. If I look at your diary and do not see the link to the ring up anywhere, you're out.

I don't care if your diary is locked or not, you can still be a member of the Neopets ring. I don't know why you'd be promoting your diary with rings if it's locked, but what the heck? Go ahead, join. It won't hurt anybody.
